As I look down at my little baby, I’m consumed with this overpowering love, this amazing sensation that I (well, I should say we, but…..) created you, this perfect little angel (for now), bringing you into a world full of love, acceptance, and unconditional support. I’m sure a lot of mommies feel their kids are so lucky to have us, and like our parents, may be one day we’ll throw in the totally overused and dramatized line, “Do you know how much I’ve done/ sacrificed/ given up for you?”

Well, before we begin our entitled rant, here’s a list of what my 5 month baby has already given me –

1) Insane amounts of love and respect – Now I’m not saying that I was an ignored piece of furniture before, but baby you literally made people fall in love with me like never before. Everywhere I went, people were kinder, sweeter, and much, much more respectful towards me. You made that happen for me. It’s like everybody’s guard just drops around a pregnant lady and underneath all the human layers, we’re all really loving and nice. Can you believe it?

2) Rediscovering my love for writing – Buried deep inside a long time ago. But, creating you somehow created my courage and desire to write. I can’t thank you enough for this. Way before I can help you figure out your passion and what drives you, you miraculously helped me figure out mine!

3) Taking care of my health – Growing you inside me led to a sort of detox plan for nine months, and then feeding’s been going on for a while, so basically I’m healthier than I’ve ever been in life. Now, I’m not saying it’s all good (I struggled without coffee for a while), but at least I have the best skin and hair I’ve had in a long time and it’s all thanks to you!

4) The best bonds of life – Aah, suddenly heaven on earth does exist. In our living room – Your daddy, you and me. Nothing else matters and nothing else exists. My true elixir. I don’t think even you realize what a catalyst you are in this process. So thank you for enriching my life with the most fulfilling relationships ever.

5) I gave you life, and you gave meaning to mine – This one right here. I may have created you, (WE, sorry, what’s wrong with me?!) but darling, you just gave my life meaning. And that’s why I truly believe, that babies raise mommies too. None of the amazing things that have happened to me in the last 14 months would have happened if it wasn’t for you, and all your baby energies. So thank you for being my life!

I know there are days, when I’ll question these love notes, and want to maybe pull my hair out, but for now, in these quiet moments I’m just soaking it all in.
