“It Took Me Almost 20 years To Accept The Flaws In My Body Positively” Shivangi Nagar on Fitness & Transformation

It took me 20-something odd years to start accepting the flaws in my body positively, acknowledge the need for change, get rid of compulsive eating tendencies, invest time into fitness and nutrition, develop self control to get over old lazy habits, learn to embrace myself and feel confident in my skin.

This is the most fit and body positive I have been in last few years.

This form only lasted a couple of days and I was okay with that, knowing our bodies change constantly.

For the first time I took a moment to cherish the results of months of hard work.

I accepted the fact that I will slack every now and then, and will have to work even harder to improve. For the first time, I felt confident that I have gained a sense of control over my weaknesses (emotional eating).

The struggle on this journey made me much stronger emotionally; as I was afraid I would fall prey to same old habits and never overcome them.

So I allowed myself to feel the pride that comes with reaching a new milestone.

Transformation no longer meant just a change in appearance. I transitioned from being self-critical to being self-accepting,

I began to realize self validation and self approval matter so much more than anybody else’s.

This picture serves me as a reminder of my capability to overcome weaknesses. 

We are stronger than we think we are and capable of surprising ourselves every once in a while 😉 So what- if you show it or don’t show it to the rest of the world; pat your own back for all your baby steps and milestones; nobody knows your struggle as much as you do!! ☺

The journey towards fitness led me on a journey to self-acceptance and i wish this story helps you to rediscover the joy in yours!
