This can be due to a sedentary lifestyle, more screen time, lack of physical activity, obesity, stress and a poor diet. So checkout if you are into this. If yes, then you need a change in your lifestyle. Do some physical activity daily for atleast 30 mins daily. Along with this Yoga will also help for stress if any.But yea avoid any exercise at night. Avoid watching TV/working on your computer/mobile, 1 hour before you sleep. Instead read/write something. Avoid eating fatty/gas-forming foods, caffiene, sweets, desserts, after 6pm. Eat a light meal at night .Also, avoid drinking too much of water during night time. And if you are overweight/obese aim on reducing your weight. If your not into a sedentary lifestyle meet a physician to checkout any other hormonal/health issue.

Thank you Ms Mayuri. This is really helpful. I have comparatively active lifestyle but yes I spend a lot of hours on computer. I don't think I am stressful except some odd days. I like watching movies at night, I find it like a stress buster. How does that affect if I don't watch it for 1 hour before I sleep. I also have this habit of eating little snacks while watching a movie, sometimes very late. And lastly, how does too much water during night will affect? Really want to know the reasons so asking :)
Welcome! We will discuss your queries one by one. Firstly computer and sleep. Our sleeping and rising patterns are regulated by a hormone- Melatonin. The melatonin levels rise after evening. If we are exposed to light emitting devices like TV/Computer/Laptop/Mobile the release of melatonin is significantly reduced due to the harsh rays. So it can cause difficulty in sleeping. So avoiding these devices just an hour prior to sleep can work wonders. For stress you can read books/write or listen music/meditate. But keep a check of light in the room. It should not be bright. Now coming to the second query about water. Drinking too much of liquids/water can lead to increased frequency of urination which can again disturb your sleep. So if you are experiencing this then avoid too much of liquids after evening.
