Tinder commissioned a market survey of 1500 Indian singles from 7 cities, across the 18-34 age group who own a smartphone, earlier this year and the reports highlight the result.
- How important is sex in a relationship?
For 81% of singles, sex is important in a relationship.
Men and women agree on the importance of sex in a relationship, 79% of women agree, while 83%of men agree.
Amongst 18-22-year-olds, 38 % of singles consider sex important in a relationship
Amongst 28-34-year-olds, 56% of singles consider sex as very important
- How many times do you think about sex every day?
21 % of women think about sex several times a day (30% of men)
23 % of women think about sex once a day (30 % of men)
32% of women think about sex once or twice a week (31% of men)
24 % of women never think about sex, and 9% of men never think about sex

71% of Indian singles have used an excuse not to have sex

8 out of 10 singles of 28-34 have used an excuse to avoid having sex.

Younger ones (18-22 year old) favour travelling the most (38%)

- What’s the best time to have sex?
60 % say at night

Both women and men agree on the fact that night is the best time to have sex, with a greater proportion of women than men (65% vs 56%).
56% of Young singles (18-22 y.o) favour night time for having sex, and 63% of the older ones

Women and men agree on the necessity of innovating when it comes to sex (78% vs 80%).
A majority of singles whatever their age category is in favour of innovation when it comes to sex, 18-24 are 74% are in favour and older ones are 82% in favour
- Are you more experimental with a casual date or in a serious relationship?
When having sex with a casual date: 37% feel freer to try new stuff
When in a relationship: 24% usually try new things in bed
Women feel free to try new stuff when having sex with a casual date (36%)
Men also feel free to try new stuff when having sex with a casual date (37%)
29% of 18-24 feel free in innovating with sex on a casual date, whereas 41% of 28-34-year-olds feel free to innovate in bed with a casual date.
