PCOD Mom: My Tough Pregnancy Experience

pcod mom

I had a severe issue of PCOD and I had been to many doctors but all in vain. One of my hubby’s friend suggested us to go to Dr. Archana Dhawan Bajaj. I went to her and discussed all issues and she told me that she will give me treatment for only 3 months with medicines because I already had a long history with other doctors.

If something positive happens, that’s fine, otherwise she will do an IUI. I had always wanted to have a natural pregnancy and after 2 months I found out the good news that I’m pregnant. I was overwhelmed and everything was going fine.

I was in my 9th month, first week, when my doctor told me that placenta had stopped giving nutrition to the baby and I had a growth lag of 2 weeks. She told me that she would wait for one more week. Otherwise, I needed to get the baby delivered before due date. She advanced me to keep my blood pressure record with me for next 1 week. I did the same.

After a week I went with my hubby for regular check-up as I had a severe contraction in the morning. The doctor did an internal check-up and confirmed that the uterus had become soft but not yet opened. She checked my BP record and because it was on a little higher side, the doctor told me to get admitted to the hospital.

I got admitted in the hospital at 11 p. m. They inserted tablets to induce artificial pain. Same thing went on till 7 a.m in the morning next day and then they induced the drip so that the pains would increase. My doctor tried her best to make it a normal delivery but after a struggle of 3 hours, she told my husband that the baby was stuck near the naval and his head was swelling and that my BP was also shooting up.

My hubby told her to take the call because she was the one who needed to have me and the baby both. Then she took me to the OT, this was the first time I was in the OT. I kept holding her hand and was continuously praying. IMAGINE. After such an intense pain for normal delivery I had a c-section. I was unconscious when my baby came into this world.

I shifted to the labor room, after 6 hours I opened my eyes and my hubby was there. I can’t express the joy and happiness that was on his face. He told me its a boy. I smiled and fainted again. It was “top of the world“ feeling because I had prayed for this day and my prayers were answered.

Post-delivery I had a lot of pain but my husband was there with me at every step. When I saw my son for the very first time, I didn’t feel an inch of pain. I kept thanking God for being so kind to me. My munchkin is 5 months old now but I still remember the day when I first held him in my arms because that day he made me complete.
