Periods and Food Art – Sonam Jain, The Magic Platter’s Beautiful Take on Menstruation

Sonam Jain creates a beautiful food art telling period stories.

How many of you love your periods ? You read it right Do you love your periods. We technically have a habit to dread at that day of the month. And I don’t blame you, we go through a lot of physical disturbances like cramps, bloating, acne etc. It’s a rare probability if anyone has something nice to say about it . But what if we learn to embrace the beauty of our cycles ?

Well, I do and the reason is simple

  • Period is a self diagnosing tool to understand my body better
    • It tells me how my health is doing
    • Acts as a natural detox and cleanser
  • It help me bond with other women
    • Don’t as strangers we extend our help to strangers with a tampon or a sanitary during those days
  • And moreover it makes me realize I am the one who has been gifted to nurture a baby in my womb

However, I do believe I can embrace periods well if at the same time I can nourish my body with the required nutrients. And most of us seem to be disinterested or are too busy to take out time to help replenish the loss of blood and fluids.
