As a Fitness Expert and Exercise Trainer I get frequently asked questions about diet and exercise fads; majority of them are nothing but just myths or misconceptions that crop from our lack of understanding about the marvel that human body is.

Here are few of those frequently asked questions

1. Will green tea help me lose fat?
No no no. Green tea coffee have good anti oxidants which boost metabolism over time.
But it is not a weight loss solution.

2. How do I lose tummy fat?
No targeted exercises work. Anyone who tells u that is lying.
Tummy fat is the first to come and last to go. Be patient.
You must do a full body workout consistently to achieve results.

3. I walk everyday but I’m not losing weight??
Please remember walking is an activity not a workout.
Strength training is a must to lose fat and gain muscle.
There must be progressive overload in any workout you do. A same workout or walk everyday will not work as the body adapts leading to no results.

4. I eat only two meals a day and very little but I’m still overweight
Surprise surprise!
That’s totally wrong. You need to eat frequent meals to boost your metabolism.
One or two meals a day just makes your body conserve fats.

5. Which is the best diet plan to follow?
There is no diet plan in the world that works over a sustained period of time. Crash and fad diets are the worst abuse you can put your body thru.
Instead eat normal home food. All fruits and vegetables ghee traditional foods like poha upma sheera puran poli idli dosa etc.
Fruits like bananas mango cuckoo custard apple and all seasonal fruits! God made them in that season for a reason!!
Your DNA is adapted to them not to soups and salads and western diets.
